You have been our dwelling place,
Throughout all the generations;
You have shown your mercy and grace,
Which has made us new creations.
Before the mountains were brought forth,
Ever that You had formed the earth;
Everlasting from south to north,
Displaying of its priceless worth.
You have turned man to destruction,
Returning O children of man;
Violence caused devastation,
That was not part of the Lord’s plan.
For a thousand years in Your sight,
As yesterday when in the past;
Or as a watchman in the night,
Time seems to be flying so fast.
You sweep them away in a flood,
They are like a dream as you sleep;
But it’s renewed by cleansing blood,
As the Shepherd watches His sheep.
As grass renewed in the morning,
In the morning it flourishes;
But it dies without a warning,
The sun no longer nourishes.
